Automotive Service Advisor - Experienced
Hudson Bus Sales is a full-service bus dealership operating in Orlando, FL. We offer New & Pre-Owned Bus Sales, Parts & Service, Rentals and Graphics Wraps. Our customer base is concentrated in the DFW metroplex, Houston, Orlando, and across the US.
Job Summary:
The Service Advisor will initiate automotive services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records, be responsible for being the first contact to service customers via telephone and in person; will also coordinate the administrative functions of the service department of the company.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years automotive repair or automotive service writer experience
High school diploma or GED
Typing 35 WPM
Strong Computer skills – data entry, email
Excellent verbal communications skills
Clear background and driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Position Objectives:
· Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules. Ask questions until you are very clear what the request is.
· Greet customers in person and by phone.
· Set appointments for maintenance and repairs.
· Write up work order request with customers. Get contact name, call back number and signature on write up copy. Be sure to include mileage, either VIN or Body number, customer unit number, chassis type and OE name.
· Input all service request information into computer and give to Service Manager.
· Arrange towing for customers when necessary.
· Send a copy of service request to Inventory department to pull parts if needed.
· Insure all labor times, parts and language on Invoice are clear, concise and accurate.
· Call customer for approvals and changes to any work orders.
· Develop and maintain effective and knowledgeable relationships with all customers.
· Be familiar with and assist Service Manager in setting standardized bus labor repair times.
· Coordinate with Service Clerk when Invoices are ready to cash out.
· Ensure all Internal Invoices are cashed out on the last working day of the month even if not complete. Input new Invoice on first day of next month with uncompleted work needed.
· Contact customers when vehicle is ready to be picked up.
· Call 10 infrequent outside parts customers per week. Ensure their knowledge of our customer service policy.
· Create and manage Top 20 Customer List. Call and offer special pricing or deals approved by General Manager or Service Manager. Inquire about their needs then resolve those needs.
· May be required to answer overflow of parts calls.
· Ensure that unauthorized personnel are not allowed in any unauthorized areas. Support and back up Service Manager when needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
· May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week as business dictates.
Compensation Plan:
The position will be paid in a non-exempt/hourly basis and report to the Service Manager. It is a full time position.
