Hudson County Community College (HCCC) is an award-winning, comprehensive urban college serving one of the most historic and ethnically diverse areas of the United States. Summary Of Duties
Position Summary/Job Description
Under the general supervision of the ESL Coordinator, the ESL instructor is responsible for teaching 40-hour (upon instructor’s availability) per semester of day, morning (9 am – 11 am ), evening (7 pm – 9 pm), and weekend (9 am – 1 pm) classes at the North Hudson Campus in Union City, NJ. The ESL instructor is responsible for implementing course/textbook curriculum, providing advisement, maintaining office hours, and student learning outcomes assessments.

Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years higher education (preferably community college)
- Knowledge of and ability to integrate modern technology into classroom instruction. Experience in distance education is highly desirable
- Ability to utilize diverse teaching methods that respond to student learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
- Understanding of and commitment to the role of a comprehensive community college in an urban multi-cultural setting.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
