Position Summary / Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Office of Career and Transfer Pathways, the CTE Senior Assistant Director will hold responsibilities including but not limited to : providing leadership to ensure student success and continuous improvement of HCCC’s CTE programs, manage CTE specialist staff, coordinate, develop, and execute career and transfer pathways activities. The Senior Assistant Director will report on budget management for HCCC’s Perkins V grant program.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervision and Leadership :
- Oversee the activities and professional development of CTE specialists.
- Ensure that CTE specialists are equipped with the necessary tools and strategies to excel in their roles.
- Coordinate initiatives to promote equitable participation and ensure that CTE students can make educational and career decisions based on their needs, interests, abilities, and the changing labor market.
- Provide staff professional development opportunities to meet program goals aligned with Perkins grant objectives and Hudson County Community College’s strategic plan.
- Establish and sustain collaborative relationships with deans and major coordinators to support CTE student success initiatives.
- Connect with faculty, staff, and campus partners to share updated CTE data, programs, and initiatives.
- Data Accountability / Reporting :
- Manage and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collection related to CTE programs.
- Utilize data to assess program performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and submit monthly and annual reports to track program modifications and improvements.
- Address Career and Transfer Equity Gaps :
- Implement strategies to identify and address equity gaps within CTE programs.
- Support CTE specialists in developing initiatives that promote inclusivity and equal access to opportunities for all students.
- Monitor progress and outcomes of equity-focused initiatives to ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
