We are seeking a full-time Teacher for Monday through Friday daytime courses.
The Hudson Global Scholars Teacher is a highly qualified and experienced educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online learning environment. Teachers provide both live, interactive instructional sessions (via Zoom), and as well as facilitative, asynchronous instructional support to students enrolled in K-12 courses. Hudson Global Scholars administers several different types of academic programs and models (secular and faith-based), both domestically and internationally. As a result, teachers have a unique opportunity to work and interact with students across the globe within a completely virtual setting!
Full-time teachers at Hudson Global Scholars collaborate within a collegial network of full and part-time colleagues that collectively meet the dynamic needs of the organization by managing caseloads of courses/sections (live and/or asynchronous) and serving as substitutes to fulfill internal teaching vacancies (planned and on-demand) throughout the year. Full-time teachers maintain a full caseload but also work with Academic Managers and department leaders to complete special projects upon request, as schedules permit (varies based on seasonal needs). It is also expected that full-time teachers serve as the content and instructional expert/point-person for their given area of subject expertise, and supply, share, and demonstrate best practices of instructional application within the field.

Responsibilities
- Provide synchronous, facilitative, instructional support for students enrolled in online STEM courses
- Plan instructional lesson plans and deliver live, interactive, synchronous instruction via Zoom
- Adhere to established program service quality standards, including 24-hour grading and communication responses
- Ensure student success by providing regular feedback and supporting learning needs
- Evaluate student work; award course grades
- Communicate with administrators and parents, as necessary, to ensure a cooperative learning partnership
- Participate in mandatory initial and ongoing training and professional development programs
- Monitor student performance data, identify concerns, implement interventions, escalate concerns
- Substitute for live classes, as needed
- Adhere to high ethical standards and a heightened cultural awareness in order to effectively serve the Hudson Global Scholars network of schools, programs, families, and students.
- Complete special projects, as assigned, and adhere to project deadlines
- Demonstrate high levels of professionalism when interacting with students, colleagues, and clients
- Serve as an ambassador for Hudson Global Scholars by providing prompt and informative responses to students and families, demonstrating punctuality with on-time and prepared arrivals for live sessions, honoring schedules, meeting deadlines, and providing advance notification and escalation of issues that may interfere with the high-quality delivery of instructional programs
- Serve as subject-area instructional expert; support the implementation of instruction best practices within the assigned area of expertise; coach and support colleagues to improve overall quality and execution of Hudson Global Scholars programs
- You may be asked to teach in a Catholic faith-based program where you have students of the Catholic faith within your classroom. A personal commitment to the Catholic faith is not required; however, as a teacher in this environment, you should never speak against any religious beliefs or constructs. Additionally, you may be required to learn the essential teachings of the Catholic religion to better facilitate student-teacher relationships for optimal outcomes in the classroom.
- Other duties and special projects, as assigned by department leaders
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited US university
- State teaching certification (any state), and/or relevant credential, preferred
- Minimum one year of online teaching experience with demonstrated success promoting student achievement
- Experience in developing lesson plans and implementing instructional strategies for English students
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to support self-guided, web-based learning
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively and effectively with individuals and groups
- High level of comfort with technology; skilled at developing and presenting content, using email and the internet, analyzing data, hosting virtual sessions, use of online learning tools and platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
