What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front End Manager (Cashier/Customer Service) position at Hudson Grocery Co-op?
Position Summary: To ensure prompt, welcoming and courteous customer service and front end operations. Provide accurate and secure cash handling, training, motivation, and direction to Front End staff.
Requirements:
- Open availability, including evenings and weekends: up to 40 hours per week
- Exhibit integrity and a professional manner by treating other staff, customers, and vendors with courtesy, respect, and patience.
- Lead the department in a manner in which goals are set and consistently met.
- Knowledge of natural and organic products is preferred
Job duties:
- Staff training and scheduling
- Reconcile daily reports with cash and make regular bank deposits.
- Fill in for all uncovered shifts.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Ensure customer purchases are bagged and carry out service provided as needed.
- Answer customer questions in a friendly, helpful, timely, and accurate manner.
- Refer unresolved questions or problems to appropriate staff.
- Answer phone as needed
- Assist other departments as assigned in non-cashiering tasks when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
