Mission of Position: The Salesforce Administrators primary responsibility is to support our mission by ensuring the Salesforce CRM system is optimized to meet the needs of our programs, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, collaboration, and a passion for driving social impact through technology.

Principle Responsibilities may include:

  • Serve as lead Salesforce administrator by managing user accounts, roles, profiles, licenses, permissions, and storage management
  • Maintain data integrity by managing deduplication, validation rules, and regular data audits
  • Monitor and ensure platform performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Provide the necessary Salesforce support to a variety of special projects including fundraising appeals, strategic development plans, event mailing lists, volunteer programming, reporting and more
  • Customize Salesforce NPSP features such as donation management, volunteer tracking, and campaign tools
  • Create and update workflows, process automations, and Salesforce Flow to streamline operations
  • Design and maintain reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights for fundraising and program teams
  • Develop new functionalities as the organization grows
  • Provide ongoing support to staff, including training and technical assistance
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and resources to promote effective use of Salesforce
  • Oversee donor, volunteer, and program data to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Assist in importing and exporting data for campaigns, grants, and other organizational needs
  • Support development teams with data segmentation for personalized donor outreach
  • Work with program managers, development teams, and leadership to gather requirements and translate them into Salesforce solutions
  • Partner with external consultants, Salesforce account staff, and vendors for integrations or advanced customizations
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and donor confidentiality policies
  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and NPSP features, implementing enhancements to maximize system capabilities
  • Assist with staff special events, outreach activities and other duties as assigned by leadership team. This will require occasional evening and weekend hours

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-3 years proven experience as a Salesforce Administrator, preferably in a non-profit environment (bachelors degree can be substituted for one year of experience)
  • Proficiency with Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) features and functionality
  • Proficiency in Salesforce tools, including Flow, Process Builder, and Reports/Dashboards
  • Proficiency in managing data migration and database integration projects
  • Experience managing data imports/exports and ensuring data quality
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational skills, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and support non-technical users
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to create and manage efficient procedures and processes (i.e., donor acknowledgement, program registration, etc)
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator credential preferred

Background:

The Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail will be a new 7.5-mile riverfront linear park in the Highlands region of the Hudson River Valley. This is an opportunity to join the dynamic and growing team that will ultimately build, manage, and program the new linear park. The Fjord Trail, in its design and future programming, will emphasize accessibility to a variety of outdoor experiences for all ages and abilities to enjoy from rugged hikes to shoreline walks to immersive forest and marsh meanders. Hudson Highlands Fjord Trail, Inc. is an independently operated non-profit subsidiary of Scenic Hudson, Inc.

Compensation: Full Time, with competitive benefits and a salary range of: $75,000 - $82,000
