Overview
We are seeking creative, flexible and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to join our on call sub list at our independent, project based learning school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering a positive learning environment and supporting the educational development of students. As a Substitute Teacher, you will step into various classrooms, ensuring continuity of instruction and maintaining a productive classroom atmosphere in the absence of the regular teacher. We are an fun, inviting, welcoming community and we are hoping to find great substitutes on our team.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure students continue their learning without interruption.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create an engaging learning environment that respects the social-emotional needs of the both the adults and students.
- Communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents regarding classroom activities and student progress.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supervise students during activities, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Provide feedback on student performance and classroom dynamics to assist in future lesson planning.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with project based learning methods and early childhood education strategies.
- Proficient in lesson planning that caters to various learning styles and abilities.
- Effective classroom management skills to maintain good health and facilitate learning.
- Experience in elementary school settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
