What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tinkering Teacher (Summer Camp) position at Hudson Lab School?
The Camp
Run by Hudson Lab School, Camp Hudson is a boutique summer day camp for campers ranging from Grades K-5. We’re reimagining education! Camp Hudson’s mission is to instill a love of learning, to inspire creativity and wonder, and to teach children the process to design and build their big ideas. Students and teachers immerse themselves in the innovation process and solve problems through a critical, rigorous, and iterative process that fuels the passion and potential of young learners. Camp sessions typically run over 2-week periods and have unique themes (like Voyage with Vikings, Superhero Academy, Deep Sea Adventures, Hogwarts Invitational and Walk Like an Egyptian). We construct a large-scale project outdoors revolving around the theme. Individually children are free to create smaller projects on their own. We teach safe, appropriate tool usage, along with gardening, art, computational thinking and creative play. Our goal is to foster each child’s confidence.
