Leading New York-based construction service firm is looking for an Operations Accountant to join our Finance team! This exciting role will have a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities, including compiling, processing and maintaining general ledger accounts, original accounts payable records and ensuring payroll entry to our job cost and general ledger system. Position will be primarily based in our New York City headquarters but will also require time spent in our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office.

This exciting role will have a wide range of day-to-day responsibilities, including compiling, processing and maintaining general ledger accounts, original accounts payable records and ensuring payroll entry to our job cost and general ledger system. Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage weekly accounts payable process and cash analysis for CFO
- Manage cash receipts and deposit docs for project receipts record to cash analysis
- Verify project cash receipts entry into system
- Manage loan payments for insurance package
- Manage A/P process, verify approval, proper coding, and entry on all invoices
- Coding invoices for various overhead accounts
- Familiar with all in-house systems related to the G/L, Job Cost, A/P, and A/R processes
- Prepare and process all company checks, maintain accurate Vendor database, and process all job cost payments
- Audits and verifies expense reports
- Reconciles vendor statements
- Maintains original account payable files
- 1099 preparation
- Assist project accountants & project teams with monthly billing process and various job cost issues
- Ensure payroll job cost entry into Accounting database
- 4-year degree in Accounting preferred but not required
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
- Eye for detail, accuracy is imperative
- Able to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative
- Proficiency with CMIC & MS Office suite required
- Familiar with construction accounting and job costs a plus.
