What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at Hudson Montessori School?
The Accounting Assistant will report to the Director of Finance and support the school's business operations.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Oversight of the school’s general ledger including processing of all invoices, posting of GL entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliation and balancing, and preparation of monthly close statements.
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and associated key financial metrics to Head of School and Board of Trustees.
- Management of financial and accounting policies and systems.
- Management of year-end audit engagement with external auditor.
The optimal candidate will have:
· accounting knowledge/experience to meet the position’s responsibilities
· experience with Quick Books Online.
· the ability to independently work on projects and problem-solve.
· a desire to be part of a team that is focused on the school’s mission.
