The GC Scientist is a growth position joining a well experienced team supporting innovative analytical projects. The ideal candidate will be an inquisitive, career-minded analytical chemist with a demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems, troubleshoot equipment, and develop novel analytical methods to solve business problems and implement efficiencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide gas chromatograph expertise while supporting innovative projects and routine analyses.
- Perform routine maintenance on analytical equipment including daily preventative maintenance, calibration (single and multi-point) and troubleshooting.
- Develop, write, and edit SOPs as needed, ensuring valid and accurate information.
- Perform analyses in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures and published methods.
- Organize laboratory results into presentations/reports. Maintain laboratory notebook including all details and records of research conducted.
- Responds to internal and external inquiries; research and resolves problems.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS or MS in Chemistry or relevant degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 3 years of relevant experience with prior experience calibrating, maintenance and troubleshooting experience of chromatographic instrumentation.
- Ability to gather data, investigate and analyze information, compile information, draw conclusions and solve problems.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to plan and work effectively.
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the US is required for this role. This position will not be eligible for visa sponsorship.
