Overview
We are a busy fast-paced upscale cafe serving breakfast and lunch In the heart of Hudson, NY. looking for a dishwasher/food runner to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate has front of the house and back of the experience, is reliable/punctual and with a strong work ethic. Reliable transportation to get to work and strong communication skills are essential for this opportunity. (must speak English fluently)
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, using commercial dishwashing equipment.
- Support chefs in what they need and execute tasks without needing constant direction or supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including taking out garbage when needed; multiple times a day.
- Run orders to tables; previous service experience a big plus.
- Clear and clean tables promptly when guests leave to ensure a clean dining environment for incoming patrons.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and baristas to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to maintain high standards of hygiene.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen as a dishwasher a plus.
- Attention to detail to maintain a high degree of cleanliness essential.
- Excellent hospitality, communication and customer service skills (must speak English fluently)
- Strong organization skills in maintaining a clean kitchen area
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
