Hudson's Furniture is hiring a Skilled Laborer to assist with grounds and building maintenance, light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, irrigation, heavy equipment operation, and warehouse insulation installation. Note: This is an independent contractor role with potential for permanent employment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and insulation installation in the warehouse
- Operate hand tools, power tools, lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, and landscaping equipment
- Conduct daily property inspections for trash, safety hazards, and necessary repairs
- Change light bulbs and perform minor electrical maintenance
- Handle irrigation system maintenance, including identifying and repairing sprinkler leaks, valves, and heads
- Install insulation in the warehouse as needed
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging, raking, lifting heavy items, and working from ladders
- Follow directions from the Site Manager and collaborate effectively with team members
Requirements:
- 1 year of maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of general tools, landscaping equipment, and irrigation systems
- Experience with insulation installation in a warehouse setting is a plus
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and eager to develop new skills
