QA/QC Technician/ Production Boxing team lead
Hudson Valley Creamery is a manufacture of Goat Cheese Products and is looking for a team lead to supervise and direct our boxing room and will also be a Quality associate.
The typical hours of this role will be from 5am-2pm and will report to the quality manager.
This role is physical in nature and is in refrigerated conditions of about 40 degrees.
Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities :
implementing and maintaining food safety, while adhering to company and customer specifications.
· Helping in production as needed to help with cross training of the team
· microbiological sampling of raw, finished products, primary material, water, air and other applicable per testing program.
· Perform a variety of laboratory procedures
· Perform daily work assignments accurately and in a timely and safe manner.
· enforcing GMP’s, food safety to both internal and contracted employees
· Reports all deficiencies in a timely manner to the management to assure corrective actions are taken.
· Perform inspections
· Document management: classification, editing and creation.
· Perform inventory of laboratory items
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- Ability to attend training and apply learning on routine operation, laboratory instrumentation, SOPs
- Attention to detail and precision is a must
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instruction
- Ability to cooperate with co-workers within an organized team environment or work alone with supervision
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame
- Ability to use Excel, Word, and other office systems
Physical Requirements:
- This position will be standing a good part of the day.
- Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening
- Occasional bending, grasping, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching
- This job is in refrigerated conditions of about 40 degrees
Required education:
· high school diploma preferred
