What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Collector position at Hudson Valley Credit Union?
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Mortgage Collector. Primary Function: Collect delinquent consumer, real estate and commercial loans. Communicate effectively and makes appropriate arrangements to cure delinquency in the most efficient manner
Responsibilities
* Contact residential and commercial members with a past due loan by phone, email and letters to discuss
repayment.
* Contact members regarding delinquent tax notifications and collect appropriate documentation. Meet assigned
monthly contact and promise ratios.
* Recommend deferred payments, refinance, loan consolidations and other repayment options, as needed.
* Recommend Home Equity Loans for charge off.
* Skip trace evasive members using outside resources such as credit reports, phone, address and public records.
* Recommend credit counseling when appropriate.
* Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required
and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and
demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when
the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

* Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) certificate, or state authorized high school equivalent certificate required
- Minimum 1 Year Customer service experience in a financial institution or retail environment experience required
- Minimum 6 months Previous collection experience experience preferred
