Description
This assistant position provides office and clerical support for the Volunteer & Integrative Therapy Department. The Volunteer Assistant works in tandem with the Director and the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the department is running efficiently to provide adequate service to the agency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintenance of volunteer HR files.
- Enter volunteer hours into EMR
- Prepare materials for volunteer training and education.
- Preparation and distribution of Mandatory Education Materials.
- Maintain Volunteer Master List in computer system.
- Complete telephone reference checks for potential volunteers.
- Assist with Administrative Volunteer staffing requests.
- Coordinate volunteers and participate in IDG team meetings
- Support volunteers and responding to questions or concerns.
- Responsible for reserving appropriate meeting space.
- Oversee donations and creation of baskets of love.
- Generate reports using EMR or Excel as needed.
- Order Office Supplies for Volunteer Department.
- Support and implements all agency policies and procedures.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

- Excellent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel.

- Possess excellent attention to detail, ability to follow oral and written instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to carry up to 25 pounds of supplies and/or office materials
- Excess hours at a computer screen and standing/sitting through the scheduled shift
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Highschool Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year computer experience, including the ability to use word processing and data base software.
- Proficiency in accessing and navigating email, internet and setting up files and folders on the computer when necessary
- At least one year experience working is fast paced office setting – medical or hospice environment preferred
- Previous customer service background/skills preferred
Hours: Monday-Friday(8:30am-4:30pm)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Pay: $20-22 per hour
