RN Unit Coordinator: Generous Sign on bonus available for right person! M-F position. Looking for an energetic and responsible RN leader who wants to direct and build a unit team to deliver optimum quality care and service to the residents. Must have strong nursing skill set. Must be flexible and able to multi-task. Adept at care planning with MDS, Medicare/PDPM/case mix knowledge and experience a plus. Active NYS license, IV application/knowledge and CPR certified is necessary.
Responsibilities include:
1. Establish and supervise unit routines and follow and instruct staff in policy and procedures of the facility.
2. Manages all staff on the unit and acts as a role model for them.
3. Assumes full responsibility and supervision of the unit in the day to day operations of the unit and in emergencies.
4. Directs and plans the care of all unit residents.
5. Develops and updates nursing care plans for each and is part of the interdisciplinary care plan team.
6. Evaluates and assesses all residents at admissions, readmission, and as needed when ill or when transferred.
7. Communicates with medical professionals, families and residents
8. Assures MARS and TARS are accurate and appropriate and is part of the plan of care. Assures charting is done by unit staff.
9. Works closely with staff and responds accordingly to issues on the unit.
10. Does daily rounds to assure assignments are being done and are completed. Assures policies and procedures are followed and in compliance with regulations and codes.
11. Engages in committees and meetings as assigned.
12. Assumes supervisory role on rotation.
13. Follows through on the necessary documentation, reports and responsibilities of the unit.
14. Others as outlined during interview/job description.

Qualifications
- Active RN License
- Experience of at least 2 years in supervisory role
- CPR Certification
- Proficiency in IV insertion
- Experience in developing care plans
- Strong knowledge of EMR and EHR systems
- Ability to perform catheterization
- Familiarity with patient assessment and tube feeding
- Previous experience in patient care and physiology
- Premium skills in Epic, Critical care, and Cardiac catheterization
- Relevant skills in Airway management and Health coaching
