Renaissance Rehabilitation & Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg, NY

The Staff Development / Infection Control (Registered Nurse / RN) is focused on assisting and supporting , implementation, and evaluation of education to enhance the knowledge and skills of our staff.

Staff Development Responsibilities :

  • Providing nursing staff with clinical and educational support and guidance
  • Identifying areas of educational need
  • Developing in-service programs, training staff, and coordinating the completion of these programs
  • Planning and implementing orientation and mentoring program for all nursing employees; including Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Maintaining in-service educational records

Infection Control Responsibilities :

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, coordinate, and direct the Infection Control Program
  • Maintain a reference library of written infection control material that will assist the facility in meeting the day-to-day needs of the isolated resident
  • Make rounds to nursing units for the purpose of case findings, review of environmental sanitation procedures, and supervision of isolation precautions / practices
  • Prepare monthly summaries of all resident / personnel infections, corrective action action taken, and the results of the corrective action.
  • Report all reportable diseases to the county and State Health Department
