Summary
The Assistant Project Manager is an integral part of the construction team, serving as a direct line of communication and liaison between owners, field staff, subcontractors, internal support functions, and project leadership, with involvement in all aspects of the building process, focusing on managing projects, safety, quality, schedules, and costs, working with sub-contractors, engineers and architects to find solutions to issues that arise.
Position Responsibilities
- Reports to the Project Management team, PMs, and Project Executives
- Support and leads bid package buyout
- Solicit bids for job site consumables and owner FF&E items
- Act as direct liaison between clients, field staff, subcontractors, upper management
- Participate in and lead construction meetings with owners, designers and contractors; take meeting minutes and distribute to all necessary parties
- Accountable for management of the submittal and RFI process including interpreting design content and reviewing and processing submittals to ensure schedule alignment as well as alignment with the design intent
- Develops daily reports and confirms subcontractor hours, tasks, and equipment
- Assist and manage dispute resolution including change order reviews
- Collect daily/weekly reports and photos from job sites
- Perform site inspections reporting issues or deficiencies to the Project Manager including quality control, quality reviews, and management and implementation of the safety program

- Supervise construction team, participating in resolution of labor and union issues as needed
- Ability to directly manage schedules including the development of project schedules for all construction/support activities, updates for the project schedule in the P6 (or other) system, and communications with and oversight of subcontractors to align with the project schedule.
- Assist PM and Project Executive team with project budget management
- Lead and provide support to superintendents, subcontractors and other outside parties
- Build and maintain good relationships with clients and subs
- Effectively communicate and work collaboratively with superintendents, subcontractors, outside parties, clients, and field staff
- Lead and participate in project financial review meetings
- Document, track and manage punch list during and at the end of the project
Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience with managing commercial/public sector/industrial construction projects
- Ability to read and understand construction and design drawings
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Project, Procore, GIS mapping, CAD
- OSHA 30-hour course

Pay: $62,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
