A top client is searching for an experienced Supply Chain Manager in Buffalo, NY. As the Supply Chain Manager you are responsible for overseeing, managing, and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations of the organization. This includes the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all activities related to procurement, inventory management, vendor management, logistics, and distribution to ensure the efficient flow of goods and services. The role requires close collaboration with various departments and external stakeholders to ensure that supply chain activities are aligned with organizational goals.
As the Supply Chain Manager you will:
- Manage and coordinate the entire supply chain process, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and logistics.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze supply chain data and metrics to identify areas for improvement
- Prepare reports around supply chain activities and procurement
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of materials while minimizing excess stock.
- Negotiate contracts and establish relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics providers.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
- Forecast demand and plan accordingly to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, safety standards, and company policies related to supply chain operations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor supply chain team members, providing leadership and professional development opportunities.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management regarding supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
To be successful in the role you must possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management or related field, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, logistics, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Leadership experience and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
