Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for animal care, ensuring that our team delivers exceptional service while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all pets. This role is crucial in managing staff, coordinating activities, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Supervise and train staff members, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Provide hands-on animal care, including pet sitting, grooming, and handling as needed.
- Assist with customer inquiries and provide outstanding customer service to enhance client satisfaction.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals in the facility by monitoring their health and behavior.
- Coordinate with veterinary staff when necessary to address any medical needs of the animals.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including kennels and common areas.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility upkeep.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant or in a kennel setting is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
- Knowledge of pet grooming techniques or dog training is desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the job.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
