Civil Litigation Attorney - Remote Opportunity
Job Overview:
Seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to handle a broad range of civil litigation matters across various jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing all aspects of civil cases from intake through resolution, including pre-trial discovery, motions, and trial. The attorney must be skilled in client communication, case strategy, and legal writing, with a strong ability to work independently in a virtual environment.
Ideal candidate will be a personable, driven, and collaborative professional, with excellent litigation and writing and communication skills. Additional key experience includes proven skills in research, analyzing cases, a self-starter who can handle assignments with minimal supervision in a remote environment. Trial experience is required. The Firm offers training and mentoring for professional and personal development.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice, support, and counsel to clients on a variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including Contested Probate, Personal Injury and Civil Litigation
- Represent the interests of the client at hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings
- Commitment to providing empathetic and high-quality case work-up, with a focus on ensuring justice, accountability, and closure for fraud /injury victims, swiftly and efficiently.
- Case Management:
o Manage a caseload of personal injury, fraud /scam, probate matters from pre-litigation through trial, conducting thorough research, executing an organized discovery and trial plan, gathering and organizing evidence, and collaborating with health care providers, consultants, and experts while also implementing a strong settlement strategy parallel to working up cases for trial.
o Attend depositions, case management meetings, and confer letters and communication to opposing counsel regarding discovery issues, dispositive motions, and trial preparation
o Ability to spot issues, prepare detailed reports and distill key information
- Communication:
o Maintain regular communication and rapport with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases, explaining legal processes, understanding their harms and losses to develop their damages work-up, and addressing their concerns timely.
o Maintain communication with insurance carriers and opposing counsel through the course of claims/cases; ensuring client’s needs are met.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and a current active license to practice law in the State of California in good standing
- 7 years of experience in a law firm
- Experience in civil litigation
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation abilities
- The ideal candidate will work well with others and independently; has integrity, and a strong work ethic.
- Provide support to other attorneys within the firm in a team environment, with a demonstrated willingness to contribute and collaborate with all team members, including paralegals and investigators, with the goal of achieving best case results for our clients.
