Body Shop Technician Job Description:
The Huffines Automotive Body Technician diagnoses issues based on experience, analysis, and testing. Our Body Shop Technicians repair automobiles and light trucks while maintaining cleanliness of vehicles during repairs. The shop technician also ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
Body Shop Technician Responsibilities:
- Follows all shop policies and procedures as well as safety standards and environmental regulations
- Helps maintain shop appearance
- Disassembles and reassembles vehicles body
- Inventory and label all removed parts for later reassembly
- Assist estimators with identifying parts that need replacing
- Repair damage to vehicles to include grinding, sanding, pulling dents, metal straightening, frame repairs, and welding
- Performs fiberglass work to include grinding, sanding, filling, and straightening
- Experienced applicants should possess tools of the trade
- Ensures the shop runs efficiently by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Body Shop Technician Requirements:
- Five years experience in a large facility or dealership
- Some post-secondary automotive training
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Results-oriented self-starter
- Unrestricted driver license and clean driving record
- Strong technical performance record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering world-class customer service
- Demonstrated desire to learn new processes and adapt quickly
- Proficiency in computer skills
