About the Role :
The Ink Laboratory Technician is responsible for fulfilling production requirements for inks / solutions and maintaining the Production Laboratory.
Minimum Qualifications :
- At least two years of experience in the following :
Experience in chemical formulation or an associate degree in chemistry.
Experience of working in ink manufacturing industry.Experience of working with chemicals / COSHH.Experience of the lean manufacturing process.Preferred Qualifications :
Ability to understand chemical names and functionsStrong mathematics / numeracy capabilityAbility to meet deadlinesOperate with accuracy and attention to detailExcellent communication skillsExperience of working in a team environmentRequired Education / Degree
High School Diploma or GEDAssociate degree in chemistry or 2 years of experience in chemical formulationResp onsibilities :
Providing inks / solutions for production by following standard work procedures for each product, operating to a high degree of accuracy in weights, measures and timing.Ensuring inventory levels of inks, solutions, adhesives and solvents for manufacturing are maintained.Ensuring inks required ‘on the day’ are manufactured in accordance with the production plan and production requirements which may include flexible working arrangements.Carrying out tests on inks, solutions and adhesives to prove correct performance before providing to QA for final approval.Ordering laboratory consumables as required.Carry out chemical UV Vis analysis as part of manufacturing process.Carry Out water testing of De Ionised water system.Make use and be competent in the use of all Test laboratory equipment - steam sterilizer, BIER vessel, oil bath, VH2O2 equipment and UV analysis equipment.Ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals and solvents.Be competent in the use of laboratory manufacturing equipment – mixers, milling equipment.To maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the ink laboratory ensuring that any defects are reported promptly to the appropriate responsible person.To fully comply with the requirements of the organisation’s Quality Assurance systems and take responsibility for all its obligations.To deputise for the Ink Laboratory supervisor when required to do so.To represent the Company image as being one of high integrity at all times when representing the Company both internally and externally and behave in a manner both on and off duty befitting the Company image and standardsTo be an active participant and contributor in process improvement and root cause analysis problem solving.Implementation and adherence to the agreed manufacturing plan and ability to make recommendations for potential changes that can improve efficiency.Any other duties which can reasonably be expected of the post holder given their knowledge, skills and experience.Equal Employment Opportunity & Accessibility Statement
