JOB SUMMARY
The Manager, Health Safety & Environment is responsible for providing EHS support, advice and solutions, ensuring compliance, and developing best practice on health and safety issues for HufriedyGroup. The position is also responsible for driving high standards of safety performance enabling the Hufriedy business to achieve its EHS objectives.
DUTTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide proactive, efficient and professional EHS advice, coaching and support to identified businesses and functional teams.
- Ensure that effective management of health, safety and environment is embedded at an operational level within the business, and that managers and employees at all levels are aware of their EHS responsibilities.
- Organize, lead and administer the local safety meetings, ensuring the active participation and engagement by all required internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the development, completion and ongoing review of risk assessments, advising on the suitability and application of risk control measures, identify and report on inadequately controlled risks and non-compliance with statutory or internal non-compliance.
- Support the effective implementation of EHS management systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Support the development of and deliver EHS training and other engagement initiatives that improve employee awareness, competency and safety performance.
- Monitor and report on training completion, performance and compliance, using feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure that all incidents, accidents, near misses and crises are appropriately reported, investigated, escalated and managed per Hufriedy and / or other legal requirements.
- Respond to incidents and accidents, claims, enforcement action and crises, carrying out investigations in accordance with the global EHS framework and ensuring appropriate actions are identified to prevent recurrences.
- Timely and accurately report on regional safety performance, supporting the collection and analysis of safety performance data and EHS metrics, identifying areas of concern and appropriate actions.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of EHS legislation, best practice and emerging risks, reporting changes that may impact the business and support the development of effective response strategies.
- Develop and maintain proactive relationships with relevant industry bodies, key suppliers and regulatory bodies.
- Support, through a Legal Register, the identification, communication and implementation of existing, new and / or revisions to existing environmental regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Shop floor conditions apply. Sitting, standing, walking, lifting. Good lighting and no special vision requirements. No exposure to outside, extreme weather, or hazardous conditions.
