Hug Chevrolet GMC in Charleston, AR is urgently looking for a qualified Lube Technician to join our team.
As a Lube Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and servicing of vehicles, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves performing oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks to keep vehicles in optimal condition. You will work closely with service advisors and other automotive professionals to deliver high-quality service to customers.
Primary Responsibilities
· Oil Changes: Perform oil and filter changes using the correct oil type and amount as specified by the vehicle manufacturer.
· Fluid Checks and Replacements: Inspect and top off all fluid levels, including coolant, transmission, brake, and power steering fluids.
· Tire Maintenance: Rotate, balance, and inspect tires for wear and damage. Advise on necessary tire replacements or repairs.
· Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify any potential issues. Report findings to service advisors and customers.
· Maintenance Schedules: Adhere to manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedules to ensure customer vehicles remain under warranty and in good condition.
· Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers, explaining the services performed and providing recommendations for future maintenance.
· Work Area Maintenance: Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Properly dispose of used fluids and filters in accordance with environmental regulations.
· Tool and Equipment Usage: Use and maintain lube equipment, tools, and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components.
· Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise and accurate work, ensuring all services are completed to high standards.
· Physical Stamina: Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
· Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally with customers and team members, clearly explaining technical information.
· Problem-Solving: Aptitude for diagnosing and resolving basic automotive issues during routine maintenance.
· Time Management: Efficiently manage time to complete tasks within set deadlines and maintain a steady workflow.
· Certification: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or other relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
· Experience: Prior experience in automotive maintenance or a related field is advantageous.
