Position Overview
We are seeking a Medical Assistant who is passionate about helping others, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable working with patients from all walks of life. You will play a crucial role in supporting our medical team by providing patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients with a warm and welcoming attitude
- Perform and document vital signs, medical history, and intake assessments
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Prepare exam rooms and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients
- Support virtual healthcare visits and utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Educate patients on HIV prevention, treatment, and other health topics as directed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate care
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling, data entry, and patient follow-ups
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA , unstably housed individuals, and those in recovery is ideal
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
- Proficiency with computers and ability to navigate virtual healthcare platforms
- Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking is a bonus but not required

We are looking for a Customer Service Expert who is outgoing, adaptable, and passionate about helping others. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for individuals interested in our services, helping them navigate our offerings with warmth and professionalism. The ideal candidate is a fast learner, comfortable engaging with all types of people, and capable of managing multiple tasks with ease. Bonus points if you have experience handling social media and online engagement!
Key Responsibilities
- Professionally and warmly engage with patients and community members via phone, email, and in person
- Educate potential clients on HUG’s services and help them access care
- Manage and maintain positive patient relationships, ensuring excellent customer service
- Assist with scheduling and follow-ups to ensure smooth patient experiences
- Represent HUG’s mission and values in all interactions
- Maintain accurate records of patient inquiries and communications
- Adapt quickly to new systems, technologies, and workflows
- (Bonus) Manage and create content for HUG’s social media platforms to increase engagement and awareness
Qualifications
- Previous customer service, call center, or patient outreach experience preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to speak confidently to diverse populations
- Friendly, outgoing, and passionate about helping others
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in computers and virtual communication platforms
- Experience with social media management (a strong bonus but not required)
- Bilingual (english/spanish) is a bonus
