Description
Under the immediate direction of the Director of Information Technology, the Registered Nurse Clinical Informaticist is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation and optimization of nursing informatics EMR projects. Serves as the primary interface between nursing (ED and Acute Care) and Information Services to ensure multi- and inter-disciplinary project coordination. Participates in communications and project planning regarding system implementation and integration with other EMR initiatives.
- Function as an informatics liaison between Nursing resources and the IT Applications team to drive clinical content and workflow decisions that are needed for the Acute EMR
- Support of the testing, training and activation tasks that are needed for the EMR Ambulatory and Acute Sunrise products
- Provide command center and/or at-the-elbow support and resolve issues as directed by the Clinical Applications Supervisor and/or Director of IT
- Assist in project post-live optimization activities that are system related, and as an extension, administrative data entry where needed and/or time trials on workflows
- Provides program management for nursing informatics projects including, but not limited to: coordinates orientation classes at implementation, provides ongoing end user education, provides support to nursing staff for relevant technologies through regular clinical rounds, provides support for daily system operations for relevant technologies
- Develops system-related policies and procedures to support practice implementation and modification as necessary. Evaluates necessary changes in nursing clinical practice and workflow as related to technology, including new functionality and functional applications

Qualifications:
Education: BSN preferred. Coursework completed in Computer Science preferred.
Experience: 5 years of experience in a hospital EMR environment preferred. Current clinical nursing informatics and EMR implementation experience preferred. Knowledge of project management methodologies with a proven track record of success working with cross functional teams. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
License and Certification: Current RN State License, BLS, ACLS, PALS required
