What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Rotation position at Huggins Hospital?
Student Education Opportunities at Huggins Hospital
Huggins Hospital offers various educational opportunities for students enrolled in high school or healthcare-affiliated post-secondary educational programs. These opportunities include both clinical and non-clinical areas, supported by the Department of Human Resources.
Clinical Rotation Students & Medical Students
Students will observe and participate in clinical departments to complete coursework requirements. To be eligible, students must be part of a healthcare-affiliated educational program with a current contract approved by Human Resources. They will have supervised direct patient contact consistent with the course curriculum and the supervising department head, subject to Huggins Hospital's Risk Management approval.
Clinical competencies and objectives of the internship must accompany the student from the affiliated program. Evaluations may be conducted at the conclusion, and it is up to the Department Director and Vice President to determine whether they can accommodate a clinical student.
School-to-Work High School Students
High school students participating in the 'HOSA-Future Health Professionals Organization' or other school-to-work agreements can spend time in various hospital departments, receiving school credit for this time. Similar to clinical rotation students, HOSA students have supervised direct patient care. The Department Director and Vice President determine if they desire to host a school-to-work student.

Human Resources regulates students and is responsible for placing clinical internships, job shadows, and observation students.
