What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Nurse Manager position at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital?
Summary
Coordinates all unit functioning including patient care, staffing, policies and standards, and budgeting. Acts as a liaison between unit personnel, medical staff, and hospital administration. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in the management of the unit. Has 24-hour accountability for designated unit(s). Accepts responsibility for maintaining and following approved facility policies and procedures.
Education and Formal Training: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. Current valid North Carolina license as a Registered Nurse with biannual renewal. Current certification in CPR, ASLS and PEARS. New employees required to have certification will be expected to have current certification at new hire or obtain BCLS within 30 days of hire date. They will be given one month grace period for completing BCLS renewal and 6 months grace period for obtaining or renewal of ASLS. If not renewed by the end of this one month (for BCLS) or six month period (for ASLS, PEARS), the employee will not be allowed to work or use PTO. Completion of general and job specific orientation program. BSN preferred; Masters degree a plus.
Work Experience: Two years progressive nursing experience required. One-year management experience preferred.
