Summary
Performs venipuncture and related procedures following policies and procedures established by the laboratory department and Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Performs collects COC Urine Drug Screens; provides assistance to MLT, MT and Laboratory Director. Maintains supply inventory for phlebotomy.
Education and Formal Training: Graduate from high school or equivalent. Mathematical, verbal, and writing skills at the high school level. Phlebotomy certification. Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Completion of general and job specific competencies.
Work Experience: Prior experience preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Excellent customer relations skills. Ability to work effectively with others, Ability to understand instructions and reason. Performs in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations when time is crucial. Ability to coordinate eyes and hands to fingers rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed. Ability to move the hands easily and skillfully. Ability to move the fingers easily and skillfully. Frequent contact with soap and water (hand washing and cleaning).
