Summary
Directs, supervises and coordinates the overall operation of an acute care facility and primary care clinic.
Education and Formal Training: Associates degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required.
Work Experience: Minimum of four (4) years medical office experience. Minimum of two (2) years in supervisory position, preferably in a medical group practice.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must have thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Knowledge of human resource management techniques. Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements. Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Proficiency in accounting and ability to use computer automated accounting systems. Knowledge of medical office procedures. Skill in planning, organizing and supervising. Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and office staff, patients and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to process patient and public inquiries. Ability to solve problems and correct errors. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally. Must develop knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies.
