Summary
Assists and counsels clients and families with financial, social and emotional concerns.
Education and Formal Training: Bachelor degree in social work from an accredited school of social work or a BA or BS in a field related to social work.
Work Experience: Minimum of one year experience in social work, preferably in a home care agency, or a hospital, outpatient clinic, rehabilitation center or mental health program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Actively functions as a patient advocate. Must develop knowledge of current home care emergency policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies.
