This is a “hands-on” role, responsible for the operation of the Distribution Warehouse functions. Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Distribution Warehouse Associate with experience in warehouse operations to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient management of our inventory, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of goods while adhering to safety and quality standards. Experience with LTL orders, UPS parcel picking, packing, processing and Will Call Service is preferred. This position may also involve leadership responsibilities, overseeing team activities and providing guidance to less experienced associates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service Focus: Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to orders and shipments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members and other departments to resolve issues related to shipments or inventory discrepancies.
- Loading and Unloading Trailers: Efficiently load and unload trailers, ensuring proper handling of all products to minimize damage and maintain inventory integrity.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
- Shipping & Handling: Prepare and label packages for shipment, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, particularly for UPS parcels.
- Will Call Operations: Manage will call orders, ensuring that customer pickups are organized and handled efficiently while providing a positive experience.
- Receiving and Inspecting Goods: Unload incoming shipments, verify items against packing slips, and inspect goods for damage or defects.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse that complies with regulatory standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to fellow associates. Assist in training new employees on warehouse procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Basic math and reading skills; strong communication and computer skills required.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum [5] years of proven experience in a warehouse environment preferred.
- Physical stamina to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Proven experience operating Standup Forklift and Order Picker; forklift certification is required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong understanding of inventory management processes and procedures.
- Experience with UPS parcel processing and packaging is preferred.
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
- Valid Drivers license.
