Job Description: Junior Foreman position is an entry level position to crew and project management. This position is often used to prepare the employee and further develop skills for a Foreman position. At Hughes Bros., a junior foreman with the right skills and competency may oversee tasks as part of a larger project, or oversee small crews on small projects. This job may be challenging and may be an excellent opportunity to grow in the construction field.
Summary of Duties:
- Safety - Understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Leadership & Supervision - Able to communicate company policies, able to assist in leading small crews in an organized and efficient manner.
- Planning & Organization - Plan and organize tools, supplies and materials needed. Plan for the day(s) work, plan/schedule and communicate with Supervisor/Manager and crew members effectively, prioritize and sequence individual tasks to best fit the productivity and schedule of the project.
- Quality Control - Responsible for compliance with plans, specifications, and company work practices for those under their supervision, or company approved standard work practices.
- Care of Equipment & Assets – Oversee equipment is being cared for properly to limit unnecessary damage or failures resulting in loss of value.
- Snow Removal – Responsible for snow removal activities during winter months. This is a shared responsibility between other responsible foreman. This involves playing an active role in snow removal, and calling in crews and managing the workflow to ensure all customers are taken care of properly.
Requirements:
- Min. 3 years of construction of site works and/or utility work experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Heavy equipment operation experience is a bonus.
- Must be able to interpret plans and specifications.
- Must have experience in site layout and grade using GPS systems, and have strong mathematical skills.
- Must have good reasoning ability.
- Must be on-time and dependable.
- Must possess good communication skills
- Must possess good reasoning ability

We work within a 40-50 mile radius and always return home to our families at night. No travel and no hotel rooms are needed here. Applicants should be located in close proximity to the Greater Bangor Area to participate in snow management in the winter months.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 55 per week
