We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Hughes General Contractors, Inc.
About the Role
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a particular project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This includes coordinating with subcontractors, procuring materials and equipment, overseeing safety aspects, and communicating effectively with clients and internal departments.
This is a challenging role that requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial construction, specifically in building K-12 educational facilities, and possess a solid understanding of state and federal building codes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and directing subcontractors
- Procurement of materials and equipment
- Overseeing all safety aspects of the project
- Professionally communicating with clients and internal departments
- Ensuring high-quality work and production
- Managing site work related to the project
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous commercial construction experience in building K-12 educational facilities (10 years)
- Able to read blueprints and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Solid understanding of subcontractor scopes of work
- Previous supervisory experience managing 20 individuals
- Comfortable using basic Microsoft programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal building codes
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish is a plus)
- Willingness to represent the company and its core values
- SWPPP certified

Salary Range
The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
