Merchandise Handler: Harvard, Illinois (2nd Shift)
We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift Merchandise Handler to join our client's team in Harvard, Illinois. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of distribution activities in a warehouse environment to manage the flow of products.
Responsibilities of the Merchandise Handler:
- Unload merchandise from trailers, lifting cartons and products, checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
- Stack and load cartons and containers for outbound shipment; stock shelves with goods received.
- Maintain and verify records of goods received or shipped to ensure smooth flow of merchandise through the distribution center.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move merchandise, utilizing hand tools, pallet handlers, and hand trucks.
- Select and pick products for shipment from computerized store order requests, matching inventory to order numbers.
- Prepare merchandise for shipping using shrink wrap machines or other devices.
- Use mobile handheld or hands-free RF devices to scan and track materials.
Merchandise Handler Requirements and Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in Distribution, Warehouse, Supply Chain, or similar industry.
- Committed to adhering to all safety processes and protocols.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy of counts.
- Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to meet qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policy.
Pay for Merchandise Handler: $17.40 / hour plus a premium bonus on Sundays.
