Business Unit Manager: Machesney Park, IL

Key Responsibilities:
Customer & Shop Floor Liaison
- Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and the shop floor, ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.
- Provide customers and external sales representatives with status updates on jobs and coordinate service calls, warranty claims, and MRB issues.
Quoting & Sales Support
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for assigned business units.
- Assist sales staff by answering technical questions related to manufacturing and engineering processes.
- Work closely with the marketing and the QROC team to improve inquiry-to-quotation conversion rates.
Process Coordination & Continuous Improvement
- Manage and coordinate the product realization process for products, projects, and process improvements.
- Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the QROC (Quick Response Office Cell).
- Utilize the KATA methodology to drive performance and meet business challenges.
- Review and analyze customer feedback reports, ANDON reports, and compliance with ISO procedures, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Manufacturing & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to enhance design for manufacturability and improve efficiency.
- Provide support in quoting, engineering, and additional tasks when needed.
Reporting & Strategic Involvement
- Keep leadership, including the Business Development Leader and VP of Business Operations, informed about key orders, quotes, and challenges.
- Attend monthly management meetings and maintain a foundational understanding of business unit financials.
- Adapt to evolving customer needs and company priorities while ensuring alignment with Hennig’s Quality Policy and Objectives.
Skills & Experience:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience in a related field OR 10 years of relevant experience if no degree, required
- Technical & Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing & engineering processes AND mechanical aptitude with experience in marketing products to machine tool builders and end users, required
- Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP, CRM, Excel, Word & Windows, required
- Key Attributes: Customer-focused, excellent problem-solving skills, and a continuous improvement mindset, required

Pay: $70,000 - $90,000/year

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
