PLC Programmer & Controls Specialist : Monticello, WI
We are seeking a highly motivated PLC Programmer and Controls Specialist to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and optimizing automation systems for our advanced food processing and packaging equipment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration, improving performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, adjust, and enhance PLC programs to support food processing and packaging operations
- Diagnose and resolve issues that impact PLC performance and system uptime.
- Implement improvements and maintain backup procedures for system reliability
- Configure and develop HMI and SCADA systems for real-time process visualization
- Design alarm management, data collection, and reporting functions for better process oversight
- Interpret and apply electrical schematics, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams in system troubleshooting
- Install, configure, and maintain VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, and communication networks
- Assist with control panel layout, wiring, and system commissioning
- Ensure automation systems adhere to FDA, USDA, SQF, and HACCP regulatory requirements
- Integrate safety features such as interlocks, emergency stops, and LOTO procedures into system designs
- Support the development of automation solutions that align with sanitation and hygiene best practices
- Identify and implement process automation improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
- Work closely with engineering, maintenance, production, and quality departments to ensure system effectiveness
- Maintain thorough and up-to-date documentation of PLC programs, schematics, and troubleshooting procedures
- Provide training and technical support to maintenance personnel on control system operations

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 a.m. – 3 : 30 p.m.
