EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer in our Hughes Network Systems division. The successful candidate will have various responsibilities ranging across monitoring the overall network health of our next generation LEO/GEO satellite communication systems and helping develop the tools to support AI in Live OPS. The position is located in our Gaithersburg, MD office.

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $65,500.00 - $82,000.00

Responsibilities
- Participate in the daily operational activities/provide day-to-day analysis, proactive maintenance, and perform independent complex network system troubleshooting.
- Leverage expertise in troubleshooting and engineering large-scale customer networks to develop and implement automated processes that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with team members to gather requirements and design scalable, secure, and maintainable workflows and communicate to appropriate parties/stakeholders.
- Analyze system API documentation to develop solutions for day-to-day network management activities.
- Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) effectively, ensuring collaborative and efficient development workflows.
- Design and develop applications needed for data analysis, modelling and data visualizations to support AI in Live OPS.
- Configure and deploy applications to get the required reports for system's analysis
- Work cross-functionally with partners, project management, network, software, and hardware engineers to build network designs to solve connectivity problems.

- Find and communicate “stories” told in the data using AI/ML technologies
- Plan and execute pre-release validation and verification, software and hardware compatibility, release test and validation, and upgrades to meet service level objectives.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering in the field of data science, mathematics/statistics, telecommunication or related technical field
- 1 years of experience with intermediate knowledge of load balancers, firewalls, and wireless technologies and security
- 1 year of satellite ground network installation, commissioning, connectivity, and other test experience.
- Experience with LEO/MEO satellite systems and their systems CONOPS and systems
- Programing skills for data analysis; ideally Python (or R) SQL
- Strong knowledge of data communications principles, architectures, and protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VoIP, SIP, WAN, and Ethernet technologies to design and implement efficient network configurations and interoperability troubleshooting skills (data, voice, and video)
- Deep knowledge of the practices and principles of telecommunication systems analysis, planning, design, and problem resolution skills
- Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Strong statistical/analytics background
- Proficiency in programming for data analysis; ideally Python (or R) SQL.
- Knowledge of Pandas is essential.
- Experience with satellite system architectures (GEO, LEO, MEO, and others)
