Position Goal:
Provide athletic training outreach services for secondary school(s) and Universities in area.
Position Responsibilities:
- Care for injuries using therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques.
- Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, and coordinate clearances when necessary.
- Provide athletic training outreach and medical care to assigned location.
- Responsible for athletic training special event coverage when scheduled.
- Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
- Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
- Maintain communication with parents on the care & treatment of their student-athlete.
- File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents.
- Maintain a daily treatment log.
- Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
- Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
- Follow Hughston Philosophy principles and Code of Professional Behavior in everyday tasks.
- Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) when interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors.
- Promote Hughstons role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Provide support or relief for other staff as needed.
- Demonstrate confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues.
- Reflect Hughstons values and is sensitive to Hughstons ethical and compliance principals in daily activities.
- Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation independently.
- Prioritize daily functions and tasks.
- Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- No previous experience required
- 2 years' experience as a certified athletic trainer preferred
Education:
- Degree in athletic training/sports medicine from CAATE approved institution required
- Master's Degree preferred
Special Qualifications:
- NATA certification in good standing required
- Current state license in Athletic Training required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
- This position requires travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned so requires a valid drivers license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).
