What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgery Scheduler Part Time position at Hughston Clinic?
POSITION GOAL
Schedules diagnostic tests/surgeries in a timely manner, calls for referrals, and ensures that patients have the necessary information and orders prior to scheduled test.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule diagnostic tests and surgeries as needed.

Process outgoing referrals.

Ensure patients have the necessary test/surgery appointment information to include location, date, and time.

Schedule follow up appointments.

Collaborate with the necessary departments when an urgent request arises, to include assisting with pre-certification (when needed)

Route charts and films for tests and surgeries per the physicians protocol

Obtain authorizations for surgeries and in-office procedures.

Coordinate and schedule incoming referrals per physicians appointment protocol.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Experience: One year of experience in medical office setting required. Knowledge of medical insurance, medical terminology, and computer skills.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Must be able to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA.

Must be able to demonstrate effective communication during performance of daily duties.
