Planner & Allocation

In this role, the Planner & Allocation, planning and in-season strategies across chosen areas of responsibility. S/he will work closely with the merchandising department, to create annual and seasonal merchandise plans, forecast the business based on changes in strategy and business climate and manage inventory to support overall financial objectives.
S/he will be critical in developing and executing the strategic direction of these areas and establishing new processes critical to our continued growth and profitability, as well as future expansion. Responsible for managing the in-season process from allocation to markdown proposals. This role will lead one allocator.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Pre – Season:
- Partner with buyers to build strategies by brand to meet sales, margin and inventory investment requirements.
- Build long range plans and goals by brand and category to give a roadmap of the future for the cross-functional teams.
- Create and sustain a tops down/bottoms up planning and forecasting environment.
- Provide information to wider business on all planning topics.
- Key interface with AG relevant functions
- Responsible for forward planning of NOS product and collaborate with global team on delivery timing
In – Season:
- Manage the deliveries, re-orders, replenishments and allocations to support sales forecasts for both fashion and basic sales plans.
- Strategic execution of initial allocations across retail network
- Support the weekly sales reporting process to aid in business analysis and strategy development.
- Partner with buyer team to support quick flow of cross channel inventory movements
- Work with retail teams and store managers to support merchandise requirements to drive business
- Communicate to local DC team any delivery issues/requirements.
- Identify best/slow sellers and put into place strategies to support optimization.
- Formulate consolidations between stores to drive sell thru and sales.
- Work with buying team to identify product requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent training and experience.
- 5 years planning and allocation experience.
- Retail experience required. Online and international experience a plus.
- Communicates clearly in oral and written form.
- Demonstrates strong analytical capability. Uses logical thought process to solve problems.
- Proven ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships.
- Adapts easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities.
- Proficient in all MS Office applications. Advanced Excel skills a must.
- Experience in SAP, preferred.
- Proven management experience and knowledge
