Job Description:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations for approximately 1,300 employees across the U.S. and Canada.
- Oversee timely and accurate payroll processing, including salary calculations, tax deductions, benefits administration, new hire/termination processing, and pay rate changes.
- Balances and validates payroll data prior to processing; identify and resolve discrepancies independently rather than relying solely on system automation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local wage and hour laws in all operating regions.
- Oversee compliance with prevailing wage requirements for applicable projects, including fringe rate calculations, certified payroll submissions, and required reporting.
- Set up and manage new tax accounts and jurisdictions as the organization grows geographically.
- Maintain organized payroll records, reports, and documentation to support audits and internal reviews.
- Respond to and resolve employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accuracy, process alignment, and consistent communication.
- Recommend updates to payroll policies, systems, and procedures to improve efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
