Role: Senior Accountant
Location: Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Duration: 3 months
Compensation: ~$45/hour
Our client, a mid-market multi-branch HVAC and plumbing contractor, is seeking a hands-on Interim Senior Accountant to support their finance operations on-site at their headquarters in the greater Ft. Lauderdale area. This is a critical role for an experienced professional who thrives in a manual, high-volume environment and is eager to dig into the details to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end close (2-week close process), ensuring accuracy across multiple branch locations.
- Pull and consolidate financial data from QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, and other systems to produce monthly financial statements.
- Support billing and revenue recognition processes for field operations.
- Perform account reconciliations across seven bank accounts and multiple branches.
- Provide insight into EBITDA performance and branch revenues to support compensation-tied metrics.
- Work closely with two AR and four AP staff to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Document key accounting processes as part of the company’s efforts to more seamlessly integrate recent acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- Senior Accountant-level experience, with a track record of hands-on execution and process improvement.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (required); experience with ServiceTitan is a plus.
- Background in multi-location service-based businesses (HVAC, plumbing, construction, or similar preferred).
- Ability to navigate a highly manual environment and drive efficiencies.
