Your opportunity
We’re currently looking for a Boiler Room Utility at our Waterville, Maine facility and you should be within reasonable commuting distance from here. Must be willing to work any shifts.
Train with the Assistant PPO and the Primary Power Plant Operator on operation of (1) HP Boiler and (2) LP Boilers and associated equipment in an efficient manner within controlled standards.
Essential Functions: But not limited to:
Assist in checks and maintains safe and efficient operations of high-pressure boilers and related equipment including air compressors, water pumps, and fuel pumps. Assists in monitoring gauges and computer printout of machine performance: tends oilier controls and gauges: adjusts or repairs broken or worn parts. Periodically cleans and overhauls boilers. Sets and adjusts controls to achieve desired performance. Assist in maintaining equipment Periodically checks water conditions with test equipment and adds conditioning chemicals as required. Checks and adjusts emission control equipment and recorders Assist power plant operator as required Assist in keeping boiler room equipment clean and orderly. Maintain the highest level of efficiencies within the operating department. Maintain a safe working environment. Develops among assigned personnel a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain the highest quality and productivity. Assisting on troubling shooting and maintain equipment. Team member in departmental Safety Audits Care for all Company issued tools and maintain a clean and safe work area/s
Qualification:
- Must possess a current State of Maine High Pressure Boiler license.
- Personal Computer literacy.
- Follow safety procedures at all times
- Training for confined space supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of technical competencies
Physical Requirements:
Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints and to inspect machined parts, product to ensure parts meet specifications. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, standing, squatting, bending, crawling, twisting and lifting of 50 pounds.
