Summary of Primary Purpose
Will ensure all receiving and DRP orders are received and shipped on time and accurately, using current company software, receiving/shipping protocols, and logistic programs.
Description of Major Responsibilities
- Complete all tasks and assignments within current safety guidelines and practices.
- Participates in company Continuous Improvement programs.
- Review and understand daily rail car report. Utilize all necessary programs such as BPCS and TWS to perform daily duties.
- Schedule truck appointments.
- Check driver's in and out in a timely manner.
- Review DRP orders verifying the correct item and quantities are applied to the correct DRP # and placed in the correct ship location in BPCS. In addition, ensure all paperwork reflects all pertinent information. Lastly, notating any discrepancies and communicating them to all responsible parties.
- Accurate confirmation in BPCS and TWS of all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Communicate with our Third-Party logistics company in coordinating inbound and outbound freight.
- Escalate carrier pick-up failures to Logistics Coordinators.
- Schedule interplant movements and ensure full truck utilization (less than truckload)
- Complete carrier paperwork.
- Responsible for timely and accurate data entry.
- Responsible for multiple internal and external systems: BPCS, TWS, RSI Rail Command, and UPS.
- Comply with the appropriate Business Rules and Guidelines.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements
- Will work in a shipping/receiving environment and will use a computer, printer, copier, fax machine, scanner, and telephone.
- Requires walking and sitting up to 50% of time.
- Requires full range of body motion such as twisting, bending, reaching at/above/below shoulders, and lifting up to 40 lbs., on a regular basis, and agility to handle all products.
- Visual requirements include near far acuity, depth perception and peripheral vision.
Qualifications
- Requires three (3) years’ experience in a warehouse or manufacturing operation.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must process strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with employees at all levels.
- Must have thorough knowledge of the company's shipping, receiving and inventory control functions.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills to deal with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team.
- Possess a basic understanding of BPCS, TWS, and Rail Command.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Basic educational level background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or equivalent preferred; along with basic math, communication, and organizational skills
