Job Summary
This position works closely with the Machine Shop, Machine Assembly, Engineering, and Field Service groups to supply the raw materials to our operation as well as the finished machines and components to our customers. Primary responsibilities include leading the department to ensure timely procurement, timely delivery to our customers and good coordination of those processes through production planning. On Time & Complete customer order shipments is a key metric for our group. Departmental functions include Purchasing, Scheduling, Item Master administration, Bill of Materials creation, Customer Service, Inventory, Shipping and Receiving.

Essential Functions
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines at all times and maintain a safe working environment
- Process, prioritize and schedule incoming customer orders for machines and tooling
- Provide attainable production plans to meet customer commitments in a cost effective and timely manner
- Work with internal and external customers to quickly resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues
- Develop contingency plans as required to meet commitments
- Continuously improve and streamline procedures
- Train employees on procedures, monitor and manage employee performance
- Capture all costs and reduce manufacturing variances
- Reconcile closed shop orders, purchase orders and credits
- Work with accounting to allocate costs correctly to business units and departments
- Maintain accurate inventories, cost structures and order releases to meet company financial goals
- Generate and administer departmental budgets and spending
- Ensure accurate equipment bill of materials are entered and maintained within MRP
- Coordinate timely raw material delivery that meets engineering specifications
- Establish reliable outsourcing relationships with vendors
- Manage equipment leasing, invoicing, and Field Service billing
- Develop personnel annual goals and administer performance reviews
- Schedule domestic and international customer shipments with all needed documentation
- Support and implement continuous improvement projects and company or department initiatives
Job Qualifications
- Must have strong interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem solving skills
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar
- Experience with production planning/scheduling, inventory management, cost accounting, MRP systems and related support functions
- Minimum three-year proven track record of team supervision to achieve optimal results
- Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced environment
- Demonstrate good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be a self-motivated team player
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. )
- Experience with Oracle ERP
- Strong experience with Excel VBA and database queries
- Experience with Cost Accounting
- Seven years’ similar experience or more
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and environment
- Physical requirements: Employee will work in a manufacturing environment. Requires prolonged sitting (80%), occasional standing (10%) and occasional walking (10%). Requires twisting, stooping/bending, squatting/kneeling, and reaching above, at and below shoulder. Employee will lift and carry up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and lift to 20 pounds occasionally.
