Production Lead responsibilities include but may not be limited to overseeing all activities related to production of airway products related to Scuba for various Huish brands. Responsible for production of new retail-ready regulators/airway, sub-assemblies, and kits. The Production Lead provides guidance, support, and motivation to the team. They delegate and coordinate tasks and oversee the activities of the department. They monitor processes, and train and audit staff to make sure tasks are performed accurately. The position provides ethical leadership and coaching to the production team and ensures that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Responsible for assisting in the general day-to-day operations of production and leading the team in delivering WOW to our customers. The Production Lead is responsible for the finished product and ensures quality and productivity targets are met.

The role includes responsibilities that may overlap with others. For example, a Manager, Supervisor, and Lead may communicate and support strategy with the team and provide direction. Working closely with Quality Control is also required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on KPIs for production, including but not limited to, turn-around times, safety, quality, materials use, productivity, employee efficiency and workspace cleanliness and organization as guided by management.
• Assist the Production Manager with workflow and maintain production schedule of regulators/airway products, sub-assemblies, and kits. Ensure unit targets are met within quality expectations and meet promised deadlines.
• Work alongside production team members in the building of airway/regulator products, sub-assemblies, and kits. Assemble, test, package and rework products as required.
• Collaborate with Quality Control on all products and processes. Confirm production meet Huish Outdoors's quality standards and perform and lead the team in ongoing quality assurance.
• Provide coaching, and feedback, to team members as needed. Assist in the development of team member work process.
• Coordinate and collaborate with the Production Manager and General Manager in performance related issues, teaming up to address them.
• Provide training with the aid of Quality Control and Engineering for new hires and ongoing training for team members as needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate with warehouse personnel for tracking component utilization and report concerns about shortage of parts required to produce products according to the current plan.
• Communicate team goals, organize team initiatives, and evaluate team progress.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2-3 years' experience in a production role or assistant manager of a team
• Ability to communicate effectively with others using written and spoken English including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to employees. Communication is crucial when working with and leading a team. Ability to communicate with team members and managers.
• Organizational skills needed. It is important when there are multiple team members working on one project. Strong organizational skills help to monitor progress and keep team members motivated.
• Skilled comprehension skills, ability to assertively solve strategic problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to model a commitment to a respectful, diverse, inclusive, and collaborative environment.
• Advanced knowledge of scuba regulator functionality helpful.
• Attention to detail, safety, and ability to focus on small details to meet Huish Outdoors' quality standards.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Physical Activities include long periods of standing and/or sitting. Able to walk in tight production areas. High use of hand, eye coordinator with dexterity in hands for fitting of small parts together and applying torque. Common work areas include open tables and shared workspaces.
