Water Resources Civil Engineer
Role Description : Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Water Resources Civil Engineer ( Eng IV ) with 5-10 years of experience in our Dallas, Texas location. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas. Experience in the Dallas area is desired. The role will include providing oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects in addition to managing project budgets and business development. The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure, urban development, and transportation projects.

Duties :
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater management, floodplain mapping, and drainage analysis and design.
- Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.
- Conduct quality reviews on H&H work to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Develop scopes of work, fee estimates, and proposals for H&H projects and tasks.
- Support client engagement, permitting, and regulatory compliance with FEMA, TxDOT, and local agencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities :
Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client).Contributes to successful delivery and performance of projectsCultivates relationships with clients and holds strong relationships with clientsUnderstands, follows, and enforces Huitt-Zollars' business process including weekly rhythmTakes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and / or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and / or executes project Win strategy.Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.Actively engages and participates in the training, coaching, and mentoring of junior staffUnderstands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.Role Competencies :

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.5-10 years of civil engineering design experience.Strong technical skills in a wide range of hydrologic & hydraulic analyses.Utilize software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, MicroStation ORD-DU, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS for design and analysis.Ability to mentor staff in the preparation of civil engineering documents and specifications.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas.This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value and Leadership Competencies.
